Inside the calculation
How Orymera Calculates Saturn Return Dates
Orymera gives you Saturn Return dates by comparing Saturn’s position on your birth date with Saturn’s position as it continues to move. It does not add 29 years to a birthday or guess from a Sun sign.

The return, in motion
The same degree can be crossed more than once.
When Saturn appears to reverse course, it can meet your natal position again before moving forward. One return can therefore include three exact dates.
Orymera gives you Saturn Return dates by comparing Saturn’s position on your birth date with Saturn’s position as it continues to move. It does not add 29 years to a birthday or guess from a Sun sign.
This page explains what the dates mean, why some people see one date while others see three, and where the calculation stops and interpretation begins.
What the calculator is finding
A Saturn Return happens when transiting Saturn reaches the same zodiacal degree it occupied when you were born. Your natal Saturn sign is useful context, but the degree is what sets the timing.
That is why two people born in the same year can receive different dates. Saturn moves slowly, and it can cover a meaningful range of degrees over a year. The calculator starts from your birth date, finds Saturn’s natal position, then searches forward for the exact contacts.
Why the result can show one or three dates
Saturn sometimes appears to reverse direction from Earth. This is retrograde motion. If it crosses your natal degree while moving forward, turns retrograde and crosses it again, then turns forward and crosses it a final time, your return has three exact passes.
Those dates are not three separate Saturn Returns. They are three contacts within one longer return window. Some charts have one exact pass. Others have three. The useful question is not which version is more serious; it is which dates your own chart produces.
What “exact” means here
For this calculator, exact means Saturn reaches the natal degree calculated from the date you enter. The result is a timing tool, not a promise about what will happen on a particular day.
Birth time and birthplace can matter for house-based context, but the basic Saturn Return dates come from Saturn’s position and the date of birth. If you do not know your birth time, you can still use the calculator for the return dates.
A worked example
Imagine that Saturn was at 12° Aries on a birth date. A return begins only when transiting Saturn reaches 12° Aries again, not when Saturn first enters Aries. If Saturn crosses 12° Aries, later reverses over 12° Aries, and then crosses it once more after turning direct, the result will list all three contacts.
This is also why a sign-based date range can be helpful but cannot replace a personal calculation. Saturn’s current sign tells you which cohorts may be approaching a return. Your natal degree tells you when yours occurs.
How to read the return window
Start with the exact dates, then read the space between them as one period. A first pass can bring a question into focus. A retrograde pass can revisit it. A final pass can show what has held up. That is a framework for reflection, not a prediction rule.
If you want sign-specific context after finding your dates, begin with your natal Saturn sign. For example, people with natal Saturn in Aries can read the Saturn Return in Aries guide. Keep the order straight: calculate the degree-based dates first; use sign-based writing for context second.
Privacy and interpretation
Orymera asks only for the information needed to calculate the result you request. The calculator is designed for a personal timing result; it is not a diagnosis, a financial forecast, a legal opinion, or a substitute for professional support.
The astronomical calculation and the written reflection have different roles. The calculation locates Saturn’s return to its natal degree. The reflection offers language for considering the period. You decide what is useful.

Frequently asked questions
Do I need my birth time?
No. Your birth date is enough to calculate the basic Saturn Return dates. Birth time and place can add house-based context.
Why do I have three dates?
Saturn can cross your natal degree, retrograde over it, and cross it again after turning direct. The three dates describe one longer return window.
Is a Saturn Return exactly at age 29?
Not necessarily. A first return often falls in the late twenties, but the exact timing depends on the natal degree and Saturn’s motion.
Does an exact date predict an event?
No. It identifies an astronomical contact used in astrology. Any interpretation is for reflection and entertainment, not a guaranteed outcome.
